tps low, would a battery thats about to go dead be causing this?? When we lived in jersey the Lib didn't start one cold morning, aaa guy stated that the battery had low amp. and should be replaced

please say yes, because that means I can bargain my wife into quickly approving the optima bailout plan :twisted:

Could be, you could get the battery tested. I would try replacing or cleaning your TPS first and clear the code see if it comes back.

same here, i do know that when you tps goes out on you, the car will stall in idle, mine is not. My lights are going really low, and when i hit the gas they brighten up.. inside & out. I'm really hoping for it to be the battery, of course the tps sensor is only like $30, but wouldn't a optima look nice under the tree :)

The Optima would - however - wives do not forget emergency purchases that don't fix the problem.
Those tend to be remembered .... forever.

- try getting the battery tested under load -

yea yea yea... this is known, I was already planing a trip to advanced tomorrow. We don't have much going on at work tomorrow so i'll get it taken care of.

and its not an "emergency" purchase, its an 04' with the original battery in it. it needs a new one, we know that. its just getting her to agree on the $170 battery over the $60 wally mart specials she goes for.

battery IS kicking the bucket, it was recieving charge from the alternator, but its just old and not cranking out enough juice.

now the question becomes.... red, yellow... or maybe blue!?!

;)

I would recommend a Red top. Blue is for Marine/Boat application. Heard of a lot more problems/failures from yellow tops.

RedTop = general starting

YellowTop = winching,large stereo's,or any other general large amp draws

BlueTop = applications where no alternator is used--racing and trolling motors for boats.
