I have a 2005 CRD and when I turn on my running light the left front will not come on, along with the small marker light under the main one. The weird thing is the bulb really isn't out, I wanted it to just be a bulb but when i use the turn signal both light work fine. So when I have the running lights on both amber signal/marker lights wont work, then I use the turn signal or the door locks and the lights blink just fine. Any ideas? I cant think of anything besides maybe a loose connection or a connection got wet. Any help would be great. Thanks! |

bulb is burnt out, parking/running light is one filament, turn signal is another filament, just replace the bulb |

do you think that the small amber light under the main signal somehow relies on the make one to function? if so that makes sense. |

Probably just both of the filaments in the running lights are burned out. The bulb you need for the main running light is 3157 like this one from Napa Online Probably only need a torx bit or screw driver to swap out the light. |

did you check the fuse? |

I just picked up some 3157 bulbs, If I would have thought of the duel filament bulbs I would have just tried that before I asked on here but I forgot. I wouldn't think its a fuse just because of the fact that only the left side is out. Thanks for the help! |

No worries man... It's hard to learn about stuff you don't know or [have trouble with] if you never ask questions. We are all here to learn, share and hang out. Good luck. |

hopefully that works....FYI ....but IIRC the fuses are side specific for the parking lights, and i think that side rear parking light would be out too. |

yep fuses are side specific, thats why when the OP only mentioned front I "assumed, which can be bad |

well I ended up following the CRD while my girlfriend was driving it and I noticed that the left rear running light was out along with the front. I picked up a box of the 10amp fuses I needed (figure your going to blow a few more in the process) and tool the left rear tail light off. Now it all makes sense, the trailer light wiring harness was tapped into off the left rear lights. there weren't any loose or bad connections but when I disconnected it everything worked normal. There is a little control box in the harness and it must have been bad. I guess I just need a new harness and I'm set. Thanks for all that attempted to help with my stupid problem!! |

another simple solution to an annoying issue. Glad you got it worked out for cheap. darn those trailer harnesses are giving us heck with lighting! |
