Full Mopar Skids 300.00
Aussie Locker 299.00

mopar F/R tow hooks 180.00?

I have the daystar lift and moabs roof rack and thats it so far.
I want to get rid of the daystar lift and get the Frankenlift
Where should I start this is a Long term list not a drop 3 grand in one day list

Skids and recovery points.
Locker then lift and tires.
Boulder bars then Al's arms.

The way I would do it

1) skids and tow points
2) Boulder Bars
3) Locker and yes if you have limited slip then you need an open carrier
4) Lift and arms
5) tires

also shop around for used or slightly used tow points/lift/rock rails etc. or do OME springs/ clevis/ Ranchos and save 300 for example to save $$$

if you are not in a hurry i would wait for whatever comes up used for sale that you can get at a good price... and that's the order i'd get them :) Except maybe for the frankenlift.. it is probably worth buying new. an Aussie locker will not work unless your rear end is completely open.. no limitedship/trac lock whatever they put in them from the factory.

if you dont want to buy used.... this is the order i suggest

1. skids and tow hooks
2. boulder bars
3. aussie locker (or similar).. helps a ton on road as well as off
4. frankenlift
5. tires.. (or you can buy mine used for $525 shipped :))
6. Al's arms.. i dont have them on mine.. see no need yet

I agree with Tom and 2006 KJ, but I would change the locker to a full replacement one, like the DL or ARB if you really wanna drop some cash

Can the ESP trick me into thinking I have a LS diff in the Rear I know the off button is a trick to make you think you are turning it off?

But please don't make this a I hate ESP kill zone. I hate it just as much as most People do on here but I'm just trying to find out what to buy before i drop the money and screw everything up like i always do (ex. daystar lift installed wrong by a local 4x4 shop) That has my clevis screwed up and strut but that's a whole other thing that i need help with and will ask about when I'm closer to lift time.

You can easily tell if you have the LSD. Raise the rear of the vehicle up. Put the transmission in N and turn off the parking brake. Now spin one rear tire with your hand. If the other rear tire spins in the opposite direction then you have a LSD.

If you have the LSD then you can not use the Aussie locker. I checked with Aussie to confirm. However Powertrax makes a similar locker that will work for the LSD. It is more work to install then in an open carrier but you can still do it yourself. There is little info on this install and most info is geared towards the open carriers. However, from my research i have learned that you do not have to remove the carrier in order to remove the LSD guts from the diff according to Powertrax's directions. However, even if you do there is a good guide on the internet here. You do not need to measure backlash or anything just follow their directions.

Many on this site will tell you to forget the 'lunchbox' lockers because they are not as reliable as a full carrier replacement. They may be right but we LSD's guys still need to know our options. Some may not be able to afford the more expensive full carrier replacement like an arb or detroit.

Well..... at one point I knew then next i didnt know then knew again but was wrong and didnt know but now I know it will cost me money no matter who did what when or how... but really!

I could tell the whole story but it would be pages of words and long stories about how my jeeps life as sucked.

I really dont know how to write everything that needs to be told about my jeep and its crappy life but if anyone who thinks they can help me out wants to I would be happy to tell my jeeps story over the phone.

I will put up some pics and some parts of the stories

car accident never really got fixed right should have been totaled

my Strut after lift was installed wrong by a local shop (not fixed i still drive it like this) its up on the strut plate and makes lots of metal on metal noises

a open diff will also do that.

and yes the ESP can trick you into thinking you have a lsd.

prob. if you call a dealer and give them your vin number they can tell you. or buy an after market diff cover and change it yourself. while your cover is off the answer will be staring you in the face :)

Go to a dealer and ask for a "build sheet". That will tell you what the rear end is and may answer future questions as well. They will want the VIN to do it.

Are you stuck on the MT ATZs?

If you're spending this much on off road gear, why skimp on rubber? If it's for road manners...uh...you ARE getting a locker, dude!

Seriously, go for a more aggressive tire if you're buying all this off road stuff...MT tires pay for themselves when you're in a technical, off-camber section of a trail, and the traction - not the locker, not the rock rails, not a strap - pulls you up.
