| Post subject: | P305 and P113 |
The other day the check engine light came on and it threw a P305 code (cylinder 5 misfire). The next time I started it the light was off- then I went through a bumpy parking lot and it came on again. I swapped coil packs with cylinder 1, and when I pulled the cylinder 5 coil pack it smelled like exhaust and had an orange/brown residue on it. It still threw the p305 code after swapping coils... and to make my day even better, it then started throwing a P113 (Intake air temperature circuit high input). I figured out that I hadn't fully plugged in the connection right above cylinder 3 (whatever it is?), but then I plugged that in and it was still throwing both codes. I then swapped the plugs from cylinders 5 and 1 to see if the plug was bad- still the same two codes, The real kicker is that my jeep is running great and it doesn't make any funny noises or anything. Any grand ideas before it goes to the stealership? |

Just to clarify; you did clear the codes right? Other than checking to make sure all related connections are clean and tight I am stumped. Someone on here has to have something more to contribute. |

how do you clear the codes? I thought they magically went away when the problem was fixed. They did when I had an evap leak and replaced the gas cap seal. |

My code reader has a feature to clear the codes. I usually just clear them after I have fixed the problem and then wait to see if anything comes back. |
