I keep hearing the NGK plugs are the best, those are the ones that it came with.

My Autolite platinums run like worn out NGKs.

I've ran NGK iridiums in 2 Supras and now in my 240sx. Never been disapointed like with the Autolites.

Like our crappy stock tires, many disposable parts are chosen for how cheap they are for the manufacturer to buy, not how good they are.....

Back in the late 70s when I worked for a Ford dealership I asked a Regional manager about the cheap shocks/tires they put on. He said "those are so it gets from the assembly line, onto the car carrier and then into the dealership, did you expect them to last longer?"

he was kidding ...to a point

How true, 2 of my stock tires on my Kj blew after about 6000 miles.

I ran the new PulseStar plugs for a while, got slighter better gas mileage but it was neglible. and they burn out at the same rate as any other plug. I got the Autolite platinum now and they run just fine

Boy you got had, paid $150+ for nothing when changing to new plugs automatically will give you a slight mpg increase, hence the reason for changing them.
