I use 75-140 on both differentials; I know the price of oil has gone up. I was paying $10 for a quart of Royal Purple a few months ago. Last night when I walked in to Pep Boys it’s now $18.
How much are you guys paying per quart of gear fluid?

Wow, 18 bucks for a quart? I'm not sure what royal purple gear fluid costs over here, but it was 7 dollars a quart for 5w30 last time I changed my oil. I'll swing by the auto parts store over here after work and see what it costs since it's about that time anyway.

Didn't go to pep boys, but at Checkers it's 13.95 per quart for royal purple.

Shame it isn't worth that much. :? You would do better w/ Castrol Syn gear oil or several other brands that I bet are cheaper.

I stopped by Autozone and they had Castrol at $16.
I’m just looking for the best price and I can’t believe how much they have gone up.

Yep, all oil products regardless of syn or dino have gone up due to rising additive and base prices. fwiw, some Amsoil prices are slated to drop come March. Demand went down so prices did too and they will pass that on to the consumer. Just makes me like my extended service intervals all that much more!

Personally we buy the stuff in 5 gallon buckets. Its under $100 and it lasts a good while. Weve got 8 diffs to take care of so we need it. :?

I noticed that all the oil prices have been going up.

Last year I bought 4 quarts of Valvoline Syn 75-140 for the diffs for around $10 a bottle. I am not sure what it is now so I will have to check.
