Let me first say that getting an alarm with a shock sensor is an amazing investment. I got mine installed in July.

So some girl backs her Hyundai into my KJ outside my apartment, alarm goes off, I go outside and see her pulling away. She stops a few cars away and gets out... etc etc.

She busted my tail light and messed up the corner of my bumper. Her car was missing a tail light and the bumper was about hanging down on the ground.
Estimate: 757 dollars. ~111 for tail light, about ~(102+102+114) for rear bumper.

Here is my question, is there a rear bumper I can get for about 300 dollars instead of factory one, and can the body shop do that if i pay the difference for her insurance if any?

Thanks, Sean.

Pics when i get around to it.

At this point you are SOL. Rocky Road has something coming out late 2006, but I assume it will be more than $300.

Try looking at www.trailready.com if I remember right they had a tough looking bumper that covered the rear taillights too. And if I remember right they were priced under 3 bills too.

"Overkill" comes to mind. I don't know what I would need the TrailReady bumper for ... I don't plan on hitting anything at substantial velocity to require it.

I didnt get MOPAR, I got a "Python".. made by same company as Viper and all those other alarms as well, I believe. The one I got installed is MSRP at 300.00. My buddy worked at the shop so I got a deal, but expect to pay 200-300 for an alarm with a shock sensor.
