Does anyone have a pic of the water pump in the installed state?

I don't have a pic, but I changed a WP on a 05 Sport and it's got to be almost as easy as a SBC. I ws so shocked how easy it was to put on /off. Granted it didn't have mech fan, but geez, right there! Took longer to wait for sealant to dry than rest of project.

how difficult was it to replace the pump?

If you have the small fan shroud its pretty easy. On my Jeep with the bigger shroud(no mech fan) I would need to remove the shroud. Other than that, if you know what a wrench is and know how to get the belt off, its easy.

Make sure you use G-05 coolant.

for 3.7L
sounds more difficult than really is. Just look at what your doing and pay attention to the details. Should take 1. to 2 hours. Depending of level of fluid consumption, inside / outside, temperature etc. HaHa.

You just need to drain fluid. After its cooled of course. I let my pump do this when I removed it. Had fluid everywhere anyway. Use catch basin.
Remove belt via the tensioner.
Remove tensioner. One bolt.
Remove eight bolts from water pump. Be careful as bolts are of different size. don't confuse them. Lay out in order.
Get new pump. Put seal in. Use a little RTV around outer edges of sealing flange on pump.
Put pump in position.
Insert bolts hand tight.
Tighten bolts similar to way you tighten wheel lugs. Alternating criss cross pattern. Tightening a little more each time until you reach a torque of 40 ft /lbs. No torque wrench. Just use a short rachet or wrench with light to medium force.
Replace tensioner.
Replace belt.
Fill coolant.
Fire away and look for leaks.

Hope this helps you. Well worth doing yourself.
