I heard that they might have a recall on window regulators, can't remember if it was here or on jeepkj. Are there any updates on this.

To late to be Christmas, to early to be April Fools...

I was at the Dealership picking up my Jeep after they fixed another window regulator. The lady at the service counter said that they checked the service bulletins and found that there was one for a new regulator and channel. This is also written on my invoice.

The old regulator part number is 04589266AB

The new part number is 04589267AB

I was also told that there is also some fix involved for the window track or channel. Something about a new part being used.

Maybe we are finally seeing the end of this nightmare.

This is what I was thinking of.

Probably not a recall, but maybe a new part with the hopes to reduce the problems. It should be a recall IMO, but they are too cheap to make things right.

It is not a recall, it is a Service Bulletin. If you have a broken window regulator, just take your Jeep in and they will fix it with the new, improved parts. There should be no charge for the work.

TSBs are not free if you are out of warranty

Just FYI

Not free at all, more like $300. It's the third one we've done

Next time I'm doing it myself but I was out of town this go around.

Mine broke over the weekend. The dealer said it was about $600 for them to put in the new setup (includes new glass too)!!! I just posted a new message in the General Discussions section to try to gather data on regulator breakage for a friend who is an attorney. Any input would be helpful.

I'm on my third drivers window problem. Needs to be replaced again. What a POS. It makes you wonder about buying another Jeep if they can't even get the windows to go up and down. :x

Window regulator are not a safety issue so no recall will be issued for them. However a TSB will be which like it was stated is not free when out of warranty.

Even if they did have a recall I probably wouldnt take mine in. No use in fixing something thats not broken. :)

Plus Im not much on letting someone like the dealer work on my Jeep. Never did bother with the ball joint recall, just did that myself...
