Yes, I was in a hurry today, and locked my keys inside my KJ after I was rushing to see my g/f after her wreck. (she's alright, and it was not in a Jeep) So the AAA guy came, and had my door unlocked in less than 5 seconds. I now can get into any vehicle that has the same style of bullet lock that we have. 1. Place a thick piece of paper/plastic inbetween the car door and the weather stripping in order to gain access to the inside. 2. Place a piece of thick plastic in the same spot, to have more access for step 4. 3. Take a piece of paper with some rubber or sticky surface in the middle of the paper and fold it in half. 4. Take that piece any put it in the opening that you made and loop it around the bullet style lock and pull up. IS THAT NOT FREAKIN' AWESOME?!?!?! Sorry that this didn't happen earlier so that one guy wouldn't had to bust his window to get back into his jeep on the trail. |

What he's discribing is a method we call 'angling' to pull up the lock pin on the inside. Great it works on the KJ. Doesn't work anymore on most vehicles, they either do not have a lock pin or have a 'double lock' system. Pull all you want but the door won't open. |

Someone on here knows that method of unlocking their Jeep all to well.. Think of being out in the middle of no where, jeep running, locked door.. Although he had a bunch of other kj's and an old Dodge pickup to keep him company. |

Ditto, cept it wasnt a Dodge but a Toyota PU and we used its Bendable antenna to pop my locks. Oh and that all happened on the side of a mountain in Big Bear just before running John Bull trail. |

I went to AAA and had a credit card key made, free for members. It will open the doors but won't start the car. fits in your wallet. Always ready. |
