Post subject:  Do You Have Heated Seats

I am getting ready to add seat warmers in my 06 and am looking for a pic of the buttons used with factory heated seats. I might use factory parts if it looks good. Can someone please post a pic?

thanks,
Travis

Mine is a round rocker switch mounted in the same area. Center is off up is hi and down is low. I really don't want to go and take a pic though. :D

you may not be able to use the factory switches, they are not an on/off type of switch. When you put them on high or low they send a signal to the heated seat controller, that controls how long and at what setting they are on.

Yea, if you go with factory part, you'd probably have to use all factory parts (heater and switches).

Personally, I liked the setup in my Jetta better. The controls were on the dash and I could turn on the passenger seat heater for my wife. To do that in the KJ, I have to reach across and blindly flip the switch on the far side of the passenger seat to turn it on. Also, the Jetta's control was a rotary dial so I could set it at pretty much any temp I wanted (plus, the heater went further up the seat back).

You can probably find a better system than the Mopar seat heater in the aftermarket world. But the Mopar parts will be easiest to blend into the interior.

Oh, and my seat heater switch looks exactly like Jeepjeepster's. My interior doesn't look the same though. Mine is covered in sand and dog hair), my 3D Maglite is red instead of blue, and it's mounted using the LOST-edition peanut butter mount instead of that nice, presentable maglite mount.

Thanks for the pics and info. I didn't know the switched were on the seat.

I don't have a pic but I have after market heaters w/ the round 2-way toggles. We installed the switches just slightly in front of the window switches on the center console. Pretty easy to do, the console cover pops out easy enough. I was afraid that the plastic wasn't strong enough to drill through without cracking but turned out well. If I remember I will snap a shot for you.
