Here ya go 0311_DoC,this is what I went off of.
http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/sho ... stallation

Lets see,if I remember right. You'll need a few holesaw cups.Jigsaw was handy.Air die grinder with various grinding wheels.
Mabe a sawzall can't remember if I used one.
Do the air box the day before"takes 24 hours to set,I gave it 12".Use polyureyhane based roof flashing sealant"black".Don't seal the old hole like they did.
I can show you the plumbing fittings I used that made a more professional touch"CRD's only because of the round existing intake hole",and also doubles for the housing of my moisture sensor (If interrested I'll go more into detail).
Every hole I cut had to be trimmed. The templates are screwy.
I can give you pics of exactly where snorkel sits in all locations.Where snorkel bracket is mounted, ect.
When you install, let me know and mabe I can be some sort of help over the phone or LOST.
Do know that(at least for the CRD's)if you need to take your air box out for any reason ie lifting or any other reason,The whole fender/snorkel will be comming out also.Hard pill to swallow.Didn't realize this till I installed that bad boy.
So when I lift in a few weeks, snorkel's comming off. :(
Oh well enough bubble busting,I love my snorkel and am willing to go through a little extra work to keep that diesel dry.

Please share all you can. I just bought one today and it will be here next week some time. I heard the template isn't that reliable so again any knowledge you can pass on from your experience would be great. Thanks

It's one of the snorkels that have been cut in half so you can actually hold it in place and mark the holes in the right spot. Pretty slick. Hey Joseph, you still have that jig? If so, let's meet up so I can get it and I'll ship it to Mike, I'll call Dirk and take responsibility for it if you have a deposit so he can credit it back.

the jig is in storage in SLC. I will be going back there at the end of March and I'll grab it then. You really want the jig if you're going to be cutting and drilling into your fender.

0311_doC,here's some pics of the snorkel.

This is one to show where the snorkel sits.Top of hole should be 1/4" below the lower lip.
Image

Here's one of the bracket.Only sent one bracket,so don't know what the lower nutsert is for.
Image

This is the new intake piece.I bolted it for a lil X-tra strength. If you choose to bolt, may need to dremmel some of the inside ribs down a bit for washers.
Image
Image

The box with plumbing fittings(Home Depot plumbing section.Brought my airbox in with me).All 3" fittings.
The white fitting was cut at a depth long enough to go through airbox and bottom out on the 3" rubber plug.Don't remember what the other side that i cut off looked like.
Image
Image
Image

Here's how it fits.
Image
Image
Image
Image

Here is a 3" threaded plug to seal the taps for the moisture sensor(Inside).
Image

Moisture sensor.Basically a normally open contact rated for 12 VDC.When water touches across the two metal tits,it closes the contact.Take 12 V. positive from your radio constant,or any 12v. pos continuous source, and land it to one half of 12v.dc indicator light mounted in your dash. Then send 12V. neg or ground to one side of the sensor, ond the other side to the light.
When water passes over the contact, light(and or buzzer) will come on.Dont want to mount it right on the bottom because some water will enter the air box via drain holes or snorkel.Mount a couple inches up.
Notice where the wires enter the housing.Drill holes in side of fitting for wires to enter and tap inside, weatherproof.
Image
Image

Here is the completed housing.Note the gap between fitting and plug, just enough for the air box.
Image

Been having my snorkel for a year now,and put it through some serious trail rash with no problems.
Hope this is helpfull.

I just cut a circle out of starboard with a jigsaw. I attached it to the box with a bead of silicone then shot two stainless screws to hold it in place.

I have family and friends in SLC if you have someone up there that can hand it off they can get it to me and I can get it to Mike. Wow, after reading that sentence over again, it might take til the end of March to pass through all those hands :D .
Still, the offer stands.

Just FYI, some devilishly handsome young man in SW Ohio has the chopped up snorkel.

He will be done with it not this coming weekend, but the next (assuming his midwest support group is able to bring him to chop a hole in his fender)
