Yea, if you go with factory part, you'd probably have to use all factory parts (heater and switches).
Personally, I liked the setup in my Jetta better. The controls were on the dash and I could turn on the passenger seat heater for my wife. To do that in the KJ, I have to reach across and blindly flip the switch on the far side of the passenger seat to turn it on. Also, the Jetta's control was a rotary dial so I could set it at pretty much any temp I wanted (plus, the heater went further up the seat back).
You can probably find a better system than the Mopar seat heater in the aftermarket world. But the Mopar parts will be easiest to blend into the interior.
Oh, and my seat heater switch looks exactly like Jeepjeepster's. My interior doesn't look the same though. Mine is covered in sand and dog hair), my 3D Maglite is red instead of blue, and it's mounted using the LOST-edition peanut butter mount instead of that nice, presentable maglite mount.
