Post subject:  XJ to KJ Fender Flares

Ok so I was filling my cousins tires on his XJ (He is in automotive denial and cant do anything!) and i desided to see if my spare fender flare will fit on his XJ. He has a 97 Cherokee Sport and it seems that my fenders are a little longer than his. Anyone know if the fenders on different on the different styles of the Cherokee. Any help because im looking to custom fab a set of Bushwacker Cut-a-way 4-door Cherokee fender flares to my KJ.

Sounds really interesting, I've got not experience with putting new flares on yet. If you find a solution, I'd be interested since I need to get some room too accomodate wider tires.

Richard,

I looked at this once before, and I think they would work, with some modifications. I would use the two door flares this way you can cut the rear flar where the KJ door is. You would need to put the filler plates at the cuts and play with the KJ fenders a little.

But at 500 bucks a set for the warn flares this was too expensive an experiment for me.

I found a post a while back from a guy in Iceland that directed you a car domain web site. The KJ had these huge tunda flares on it with what looked like 14 inch wide tires stuffed under the flares. They use these for snow I would guess. I e-mailed the company to see if they made them for export, of what I could understand from his broken english and my NY/NJ broken english, the set I saw were proto types and weren't in production.

Any body remember this from the old board?

Al

Yeah I saw that guy, the flares are little extreme for my taste, I was thinking like a 1 inch extension if i decide to get wheelspacers to widen my track. Gotta stay somewhat legal
