Post subject:  Rough Country 3" Lift

I would like to get some feedback from anyone who has installed this lift http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_liberty_3.html. I am considering this for my KJ, and want to be sure to make the right decision. Thanks

poor design, will cause you problems later on.
Daystar is a whole lot better choice, BUT your main problem is you have a 03, springs and shocks need changed out by this time. That is if you have over 30,000/35,000 miles on it, install any type of lift like that and you will be sitting coil on coil in no time.

So would you recommend the Daystar lift, or something completely different? I'm trying to stay within the same price range.

On an 03 with 75,000 miles on it, nothing in that price range that would last. Your springs and shocks are toast by now, installing a Daystar or any similar lift will only make the springs sag worse and faster. In no time you would need to upgrade your springs and shocks anyways.

Had th RC and had multi problems ( A-arm fail , unable to align..mystery "thunk"). I was not smart enough to ask here first and thought cheap was OK as long as it is lifted, tires are the only important thing...wrong! lots of posts here and lot's of good advice from people that tried the junk stuff already. Good luck. Frankie is probably the best but pricey.

Is that front strut extension only held in place to the strut by the vehicle weight?

It's clamped together with the clevis, but the strut just seats in there and thats it? No thanks...

Yep.....

And the misterious 'thump' is most likely the UCA hitting the spacer.

Save your money.
