Hey folks (new owner here), my spare tire on the back has a metal rod coming through the center of the rim...any idea on what i can do to endcap it or something so it doesn't look so awkward? It seems to be threaded, but I have no idea if something was supposed to go in there or not.

Yup, sounds like the Thule "Spare Me" bike rack. I have the same one.

If you dont want it, take off your spare tire and remove the baseplate.
