Does any one know if these are all standard length for all models? I know they are need first before adding anything else (basket or rack), I just wanted to make sure these were the right ones.

I found a new pair on Ebay for $129 + $13.99 shipped and that seems to be the best price out there. Anyone else have find a better price?

yes, they are the same for all models EXCEPT the renegade 2005/2006, which have larger rails and probably require different crossrails (I haven't checked on that).

I see another seller who has them for $117 Buy-it-now, $11 shipping:

Another option is yakima or thule crossrails, which are rated for more weight than the mopar rails. Those will cost between $150 and $180 or so to get the attachment and crossrail.

Thank you both, I will look into both places and the auction.

I'm not sure what I'm going to add yet so I'm thinking I might go with the Mopar (depending on price) because I know they will fit without having to buy a lot of extra stuff (the claps and what not).

I have the Mopar cross rails for my '02 limited. They look nice enough but if you plan on leaving them on full time, they are very noisy particularly when you get up above 55-60 mph. They are also not the easiest to take on and off quickly. I keep them on regardless because I haul wood around a lot but just something to keep in mind.

The rails are hollow which I think is why they are so noisy. I'm thinking of trying to fill the rails with some sort of material (like spray insulation) to see if that will help at all.

It's not really a lot of extra stuff, and it's not too bad to figure out what you need. But I think in terms of cost, the mopar bars will be the least expensive, since they are $117 for the one part, as opposed to $126 + $45 or w/e for multi-parts. The downsides are the load rating of the crossbars, and being limited on what kind of attachments you can use (ie, mopar attachments)

It's two parts, the load bar, and the clamps. For thule, the clamps are the "Crossroad 450" ($126 on rackattack.com). The loadbars are LBXX, where XX is the length in inches you want (you can get a loadbar longer than your roof is wide, very useful for putting huge things up there (multiple canoes/kayaks/bikes/etc). LB50 is the 50" loadbar that is just the shortest length you can get that will fit.

Is it true that you can only use Mopar rack accessories with the Mopar Utility Bars? Also what is the weight limit on them? I have searched the forum for both of these answers and haven't find anything.

The Mopar Rails are rated at 150 pounds, however I've stood on them and they didn't budge. And I'm pushing 200. I think it's more a question of how much weight do you really want to put on a vehicle that already has a high center of gravity. And also, you can use just about any accessories that will universally clamp to an oval or flat bar.

I got mine here: http://jparts.chainreactionweb.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=15&products_id=135&osCsid=fd34330edb3333603cb4b678044ecea4

Thanks for the response. I can't figure out why Mopar's website does not give the weight limit of there cross rails. Oh well, I don't really need them to carry alot of weight, just a few surfboards and some camping gear. You know, the essentials. Thanks again for the repsonse. Oh one more thing, how loud are the rails when driving at hwy speeds 65 - 75 mph? I have a Sunroof and wonder if Mopar make a fairing that will work with it?

I guess that I am really cheap, for general hauling of lumber, ladders etc I just have to pcs of angle iron going cross held on with U Bolts and yes I have stood on top of the ladder when its on top of the Liberty and it holds me. Painted them black so they match and also have no wind noise, I may have 15/20 dollars in them.
So if you are on the cheap like me it works!

You might think about Proline cross rails (http://www.prolineracks.com/spec-car-roof-racks.html ). I've never used them myself but the price seems good ( looking at a basket and cross rails for $200). The cross rails use any thule accesory, and they hold up to 165lb.

I have a daily commute of about 100 miles -all highway. I usually set the cruise at 75. I only really notice the wind noise when I'm driving against the wind. Wind gusts will make me turn the radio up a notch or two. I'm guessing it's due to the fact that the bars are hollow. I've heard of one or two people filling them with that foam insulation and quieting them down.

I don't notice much noise from mine except when the vent feature of the sunroof is open. Mine were terribly noisy when first installed. The instruction sheet actually showed them installed backwards. Much quieter "fat" side forward, like a wing. I bought them in early '03 for my '02 Limited and have never taken them off.
