there are some aftermarket kits out there that require you to cut open the upholstry and resue them.

I had heated seats added with my leather kit. If your replacing the covers it's no big deal. You have to be much more careful if you're planing to keep the factory.

yeah my covers are screwed up so I guess it would be a good idea to do it at the same time.

I added a heated seat element 2 yrs ago ... I got it form my brother who worked for a car audio shop at the time ... I didn’t have to cut any fabric or seat foam. Had to remove the seat from the jeep .. Separate the back from the base .. Remove the bottom fabric ... put the element on ,
re assemble and wire ... I put the switch on the base near the power switch .. Works great ... almost too hot , Id do it again for sure as long as I could get one ...Oh I didn’t do the passenger side because of the airbag sensor .. If your interested Ill try to find the name of the manufacturer

Hey gatorator not sure where u are but I got mine from Atlantic Car audio in Dartmouth N.S. Canada but here is a link to the mfg ....http://www.heatedseat.ca/products.php.
You can also get them in canada from aany store that deals with Robert Thibert , I beleive Apple Auto Glass does , I hope this helps ...BTW I installe mine my self and I feel that for some one with a good knowledge of auto electronics it would not be a problem ( I installed remote starters for about 6 yrs) and had not had any issues with these at all . Hope this helps

Dave
