HELP!

So we don't know how the dealer did this, but they disabled the locking flash on our jeep. We took it to the dealer and noticed a day or so later that it stopped flashing the lights after we locked/unlocked it. The horn still beeps. We want to re-activate the flashing!! I found this:

AUTOMATIC (ROLLING) LOCKS
This is the "Lock when the vehicle is going 15mph" feature. This feature can also be disabled through the EVIC.
The rolling locks feature can be toggled ON/OFF by using the DRB IIIt only.

HORN CHIRP DISABLING / ENABLING
This controls if you want your Libby to beep the horn when locking via the keyless entry. * Reports indicate that this does not work for 05 mdoels.
To DISABLE (cancel) the horn chirp feature,
Press and hold the transmitter LOCK button for four to ten seconds.
While pressing the LOCK button in, press the UNLOCK button.
Release both buttons.

To ENABLE the horn chirp feature, repeat the above procedure.

OPTICAL CHIRP (FLASH) DISABLING / ENABLING
This controls if you want your Libby to flash the hazard lights when locking/unlocking via the keyless entry.
To DISABLE (cancel) the optical chirp feature,
Press and hold the transmitter LOCK button for four to ten seconds.
While pressing the LOCK button in, press the TAILGATE RELEASE button.
Release both buttons.

To ENABLE the optical chirp feature, repeat the above procedure.

TAIL GATE RELEASE DELAY
The liberty can be set to pop the tailgate instantly when you press the button, or require it to be pressed and held for it to open
Press the UNLOCK button for four to ten seconds.
While pressing the UNLOCK button, press the TAIL GATE RELEASE button.
Release both buttons.

This will toggle between PRESS AND HOLD and PRESS (no delay).

UNLOCK SEQUENCE
When unlocking the liberty, you can choose between unlocking drivers door first or unlocking all doors simultaneously.
Press and hold the transmitter UNLOCK button for four to ten seconds.
While pressing the UNLOCK button in, press the LOCK button.
Release both buttons.

This will toggle between Driver door first and Unlock all doors function.

But we have a 2005 and that does not work on our diesel. Does anyone know how to program it via the remote on the 2005 model?

Thanks!

It sounds like they gave your CRD the flash of the week while at the dealer and it cleared some of the values.

I know when mine was in for one it lost the automatic locking feature.

Since the procedure does not work it would appear this needs to be done by the dealer using the apporiate DRB tool

yeah i tried the optical chirp and it didn't do anything. I called the dealer and told them that we noticed this stopped working after they'd replaced the hose and reset the MIL and they said that if the instructions in the book don't work to bring it by and they will flash it.

So.... next question is... could this be done from ANY Chrysler scan tool? I have a friend at the VW dealer, Routans are VW branded Chrysler vans (literally, down to the computer and all)... I'd rather go to him than Westgate Jeep again.

Yes, they can easily change that with their computer.

If you have the evic you can also change that. Thats one of the first things I turned off.

I had to use the procedure from the 06 owner's manual to toggle stuff on my 05 CRD. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Found it...

NOTE: The transmitter can be programmed to unlock
all the doors upon the first press of the Unlock button
(within 23–50 feet (7–15 meters) of the vehicle) by performing
the following procedure:
1. Press and hold the Unlock button on the transmitter.
2. Continue to hold the Unlock button, wait at least 4
but no longer than 10 seconds, then press the “Lock”
button.
3. Release both buttons.
4. Repeating steps 1–3 will restore original operation.

NOTE: The Light Flash can be enabled or disabled
(within 23–50 feet (7–15 meters) of the vehicle) by performing
the following procedure:
1. Press and hold the Lock button on the transmitter.
2. Continue to hold the Lock button, wait at least 4 but
no longer than 10 seconds, then press the “Unlock”
button.
3. Release both buttons.
4. Repeating steps 1–3 will restore original transmitter
operation.

NOTE: The horn chirp can be enabled or disabled
(within 23–50 feet (7–15 meters) of the vehicle) by the
following procedure:
1. Press and hold the Lock button on the transmitter.
2. Continue to hold the Lock button, wait at least 4 but
no longer than 10 seconds, then press the Panic button.
3. Release both buttons.
4. Repeating steps 1–3 will restore original transmitter
operation.

NOTE: The transmitter can be programmed to unlatch
the flip-up window immediately upon activation of the
“Rear Release” button (without pressing and holding)
(within 23–50 feet (7–15 meters) of the vehicle) by performing
the following procedure:
1. Press and hold the “Unlock” button on the transmitter.
2. Continue to hold the “Unlock” button, wait at least 4
but no longer than 10 seconds, then press the “Rear
Release” button.
3. Release both buttons.
4. Repeating steps 1–3 will restore original transmitter
operation.

This is good stuff. I don't mind the lights flashing but the horn bugs me. Thanks.

I'm one of the "* Reports indicate that this does not work for 05 models."

I've tried the Nintendo combos - and taken mine to 2 dealers and no one can stop the horn from beeping
(I can change the tone a bit louder or softer) - but not off.

if it bugs you that much... install some air horns. that's what i did and they are VERY loud.. but dont honk when you lock it since it needs a little time to compress before they blow... it makes kinda a real low click noise but doesnt send enough juice to the horn to blow it.

We dropped the Jeep off last night at carmax for AC repair #2 (in one year). When we get it back we'll give the lock/unlock buttons a go, tho someone said "I tried that and it didn't work"

lucky me, i know a vw mechanic and they have chrysler scan tools!
