i got an 06 Renegade and when i turn off the ESP and when im sliding on the snow it makes like a rubbing on metal noise. is that normal? and i kinda smells like metal warming up a little too. and even if the ESP is off is it still spoce to kick in like mine does? |

Esp never completely turns off when you hit the button. When you hit the button it just lowers the point that it kicks in. So even if you have it "off" and it feels that you are out of control or getting there it will still kick in. As for the noise if your worried about it take it to the stealership and take the tech w/ you on a test drive and go from there. Parakeet |

like he said, the ESP never completely turns off, but it's actually because of the solenoids in your ABS system trying to keep the vehicle in check while you're slidin about. my boss's 300C Hemi did the same thing last time I drove it, but i didn't have the ESP turned off:P |

Yeah mine makes all the noise and that, even when its off, so you're not the only one, I wondered about it and read my owners manual and it said its not uncommon to hear metal clicking or grinding noises as a result of the ESP becoming active. So I think you're cool bro. |
