why, because a competitor oil attacked it? if it's simply not worth 15 bucks a quart or whatever, now that i can understand lucas makes a dang good gear oil too seriously how many companies would have to change their adverts if a company with enough money decided to challenge their "Up to blahblah" statements up to generally means it may not increase at all not defending RP just don't get what the whole OMGZ dump RP is about amsoil! sure! i plan to try their products out here soon, never used them before only castrol product i'm aware i use is their ATF and thats mostly because i got comfortable with their atf products dealin with allisons Castrol tried to crawl up amsoil's booty over the torque drive stuff with the allisons and what not and basically came to the same conclusion, with the additional test of not really being able to tell the chemical difference between the amsoil product and the transynd i think amsoils marketing was just more carefully worded in that case either way you have 2 cases of casttrol crawlin a company which makes either a 'exactly as good, or slightly but not "statistically mumbo jumbo" better terminology and nitpicking the adverts through legal means boils down castrol grasping at the market however they can, and NOT through making a superior product run what helps ya sleep good at night i'll stick to runnin purple in the 8.25, maybe they'll lower their prices a chunk, i don't buy too much into so called independent labratory tests or stupid stamps on bottles |

Does that explain why you have insomnia and you're over 48 hours now???? you're not running the right oil????? (FYI 48 hours of no -sleep can be seriously bad for your health - might talk to a Doc - but be careful of the sleeping pills that have folks sleep walking) |

I’m used AMSOIL but I’ve always preferred RP, Mobil1 and Castrol. I base my preference 100% on how the bottle looks. In all seriousness not one company will pay to make other company look good. Example: If Mobil1 pays for some sort of test and that test shows that Pennzoil won the, Mobil1 would then not make the result public. |

Amsoil clearly shows categories that competitors lubes have tested better than Amsoil. You can see it in the white papers that they release. Fortunately, the competitiors rarely test better in many categories. Should a competitor disagree w/ comparative performance testing results, they could file claim against/challenge those test results, but I don't recall any of the listed competitors doing so any time recently. But hey, I'm biased. |

Yea, you are. As well you should be. Amsoil is one of the finest lines out there. I just don't like to get stuff shipped if I can get something at my local place of business...but that's just me. |

Agreed. Heck, I don't even like having to travel several miles to buy Amsoil. If it were as easy to get as RP or Castrol, I'd probably buy more of it. As for RP, I've never used their motor oil. In my street applications (including the KJ), I generally use Castrol full syn oil. On the other hand, I have a partnership in a race car and we use Redline oil & lubes because we've had the best luck running their stuff on a alcohol injected / supercharged engine. But now as for gear lube in the KJ, I'll use Amsoil or RP if I have to. |

What can Brown do for you? Amsoil to my door in a few business days after ordering. I barely remember what an auto parts store, walmart auto section, pep boys, etc. looks like. |

I have one question. Sales tax to Illinois? |

That’s what I like about Amsoil, it’s delivered straight to my front door. Amsoil has been very honest about their testings, documentations, and postings of their products. I run their 0W20 or 0W30 in my Jeep 3.7L and their 5W30 in my Dodge Cummins. I change my engine oil once (maybe twice) per year knowing that the used oil I’m draining is still good enough to run another interval. |

Sales tax on 5 qts oil & filter to 60176 is $5.34 (i have found some locations to Also charge a recycling fee like Cali does, not sure if that too would show up on a shipment to Il.) |
