I was on the Scangauge Website and they say if you bought it after 7/20/07 they will upgrade it free if I am reading it right. Also instructions for doing it yourself and I just printed it to see if I can figure it out. One of the things it will do is give you tranny temp if your vehicle supports it.

Anyone stumble onto this or have the upgrade yet?

Blake, this is a newer upgrade for Scangauge II only (which you must have if you got it last summer) that includes tranny temp if I understand it right. That's why I posted it.

I still can't find my receipt so I don't know exactly when I bought mine. I am still looking.

Do you have a link to this? Ive looked around on their site and cannot find anything about it.

Also, I found something about it storing your maximum speed or a maximum coolant temp. Do you know anything about that or how you would see that? Ive never heard or read about it.

http://www.scangauge.com/support/faq.shtml

Click on the one about speeding or the wifes cars temperature.

I think what you might be thinking of is the new X Gauge feature where you can program the scan gauge to read other sensors if you know the vehicle data bus stores/reads them as... I would love to know what the trans temp formula is, but can't seem to find it and I don't know enough about the data bus.

For example, a ford would be:

GAUGE...............................................TXD................RXF.................RXD...MTH ............. NAM
Transmission Fluid Temperature (deg F) C410F1221674 046205160674 3010 000100080000 TFT

You will only get that trans temp if the OBDII port supports it to be read via live data and I believe unless you have the DRBIII or StarScan the trans temp is not supported for a KJ.

Happens even with the better scanners such as the Snapon Etho's and OTC's Gensis scanners, every model vehicle(includes year,it will vary year to year on the same model) and what live data will be supported.GM seems to have the most stuff that is supported and displayed in live data,Chrysler and Ford is pretty skimpy unless you use there specific OEM scanners. At work we have the OTS Genisis scanner and most newer GM vehicles will display about 30-50 items in live data,Chrysler and Ford may display 20-30 at most.
