| Post subject: | Factory 6 CD Changer Question |
In my '03 Renny I didn't get the CD changer option with my stereo. In place of the changer there is a storage bin and a net on the passenger side. Does anyone know if the wire harness for the changer is back there somewhere, even if I didn't get the option? Thanks! |

my 05's 6 cd changer is in the dash, all part of the radio. Not sure if it would be the same for an 03. I've got that storage area and net too back there, I think we all do. |

The changer, I believe, was placed in that rear compartment in place of the bin and net when one ordered the changer as an option in '03. I just don't know if the wires that lead up to the stereo to connect the changer are pre-installed where it goes. |

Hi there. If you buy a new Mopar changer unit you are supplied with the wiring harness. You have to run it from the dash unit into the rear compartment. You have to remove the rear trim section and cut out a slot into the panel using a template provided. The changer then bolts into the space behind the trim. It takes a couple of hours to fit. Hope this helps |

I have not verified this and it comes third hand but . . . I heard that the wiring harness comes with it but that it plugs in somewhere near the back. I just put a lift pump in and had the back seat and carpet pulled back on the rear driver's side and I didn't see anything under there except the main wiring harness that powers the stuff in the back of the Jeep. There could be one on the passenger side but I haven't seen it. I know, not a lot of help huh? |
