Are they compatible with Mopar skids? That is to say if all your other skids are Mopar.

What are generally considered the best skid plates available?

Thanks.

Right at the moment the best are the SkidRow plates for the front, trans, and t-case.I do not remember is Kilby still make sthe gas tank skid for the KJ but if they do that is the best at the moment for the gas tank.

AllJ's stopped making the SuperSkids for the KJ.

I have the 2nd gen Skid Row trans skid (covers trans pan and runs all the way to the frame rail under driver). All my others are Mopar. The bolt holes all line up together, but they don't really overlap as neatly as you might expect.

I am MUCH happier (and safer) having it than the original trans skid plate though.

Kilby still makes a gas tank skid. However they're now built to order.

Do people buy them direct or through someone else?

The gas tank skid you'll have to order from Kilby. The other skids you can buy directly from Skidrow
