Does anyone have any experience with Rocky Road and their Rockfather lift (3" front 2.5" rear) for the KJ? I suspect someone here does. Im trying to decide which lift to go with, Franken or RRO and there is a lot of information to absorb. Thank you. |

I've got the Frankenlift II Premium with the heavy duty springs and long travel rear shocks. I leveled it off with an extra set of rear isolators. I'm extremely happy with it after 1 1/2 years with it. It's very high quality and their customer service is excellent. I haven't dealt with RRO for over 5 years since the fiasco with regearing to 4.10's. My Jeep was on the rack for 3 weeks while they kept sending different sets of front gears when they said they had 4.10's in their KJ. After spending countless hours on hold on many calls, they finally admitted that they didn't have 4.10's in their KJ, and couldn't get gears for the front of the KJ. Luckily my transmission mechanic was able to get a low milage front diff from a 4 cylinder KJ. They finally took the front gears off their website years later, but it still says front and rear gear sets in all ratios are available and to call for pricing. |

I ordered it 4 yrs ago, They sent me the wrong thing... So I sent it back... They tried to send me another kit... And it was missing parts... End of story... I ended up with the frankenlift |

other than poor customer service ...not sure what you mean about poking fun, what they say is not poking fun, BUT at least they sell OME springs, they can't mess that up much. They just like to down other companies and take credit for things they do not even do. Franky is good, not sure on it being a God send but its a good well thought out lift . But then you can run just OMEs and have the same for cheaper so it all depends on what you want. Buying separtely or all together ready to install |

I'll fess up to owning a Rockfather. I bought it from another member who sold his KJ before he installed it. I never had any contact with rro for this. As it is just pieces from other manufacturers, it works pretty well just like other lifts made up of parts from other manufacurers that are packaged together. I popped for Rancho front struts to add to the kit. The ride/handling on road is decent and the little offroading I have done so far has been good. No need for any mods but removing the front splash guard on my '05 and it does not rub anywhere with 245/75/r16 MT/R's on stock wheels, even flexed out. I tired to deal with RRO on the phone a few years ago. Pure idiots. I would not purchase directly from them and only have this as the price was very right. |
