I've decided on a FrankenLift CRD premium lift. I've been looking at some peoples sig line and Ive notice some people advertise Rustys off road strut plates (8mm or 10mm) is this a way to get an extra boost out of your lift? I'd like to get 3" out of the lift and Franken guys are advertising 2 to 2.5" from their lifts. If I could get 3" from the lift I can run 235/85/16's with much issues.

Thanks guys.

You can do a clevis lift, which is basically free and will give you an additional 3/4" - 1" of lift. TonyCRD has a great how-to/explanation on it.

Again though its been mentioned before, you will need to watch on your CRD, you can not go as high as you can on a gasser due to the CVs , better to stay about where the Franky will put you than start having blown out CVs

Tom is right, I would just install the lift and see how the CVs are, if they arent bad go ahead and add a conduit nut and if they are still ok then add a second one but I dont think you will be able to go past 2 especially since the lift is new and not broken in yet it will sit a tad higher.

Thanks everyone. Sorry Thomas, I just have a bugger time finding things using the search function.

I suppose I could buy a set of those cut CV's some are selling.......

Cut CVs will not help you on a CRD though they are for gassers CRDs take a much shorter CV on the drivers side evn if you could get one cut I am sure the angles would grab you real quick.

Edumacation via Tom! Smacking my knuckles with a ruler!

Thomas, do you think 235/85/16's are asking to much from a Frankenlift? Not much wheeling done here, mostly running logging roads.

Well bugger, someone in the know. JL, how's that set up working for you? Everyone seems to be trying to warn me against the very set up that you are running. How do you like those tires, and gears?
