I ordered a new trans and t case skid today since the Mopar skids are trashed. Skid row says I got their last trans skid they have. I don't know if they discontinued them or what, but if so, there seems to be dwindling skid options for the KJ. Could be a great opportunity for a CO - based fabricator to add to his offerings. |

I still have mine. I figure it might have some value to someone who can weld reinforcements onto it. It's fairly straight but the reinforcement ribs are crushed. |

All done. I was a bit disappointed by: the Trans/Engine skid is only a trans skid the instructions suct Step 2: If your Jeep is equipped with a factory skid skip directly to Step 4 there was no "Step 4" on the page out of all the slots on the trans skid and the t case skid, only 1 lines up with a nutzert in the cross member. I'll have to drill at least one hole in the cross member to add a 2nd bolt for the trans and t case skid despite the documentation stating I would not What I liked: the black powder coat really adds more sex to what is already a sexual tyrannosaurus stronger than the Mopar if my belly was that flat, I would never get any work done cause the womens would be all up on my jock I have a bunch of cool Skid Row stickers I have two bags of extra parts so easy a caveman can do it (a caveman with large pecs) These will be up for sale once the RL armor is available so I'll be gentle. |

The front of the skid attaches to the same point as the rear of the Mopar engine skid. The skid is much wider with an attachment point that goes all the way to the DS frame rail. It's almost as wide as the Jeep, it's short on the PS so you can get to the oil filter. |

Sounds like you have a different model than I do, because my Skid Row Engine-Transmission skid goes all the way from the Front Cross Member (Where it overlaps with the Front Skid) all the way back to the Transfer Case skid (where it overlaps with it). Mine looks like this:
With the end with the slots being where the front skid overlaps and the end with the tab being where the transfer case skid overlaps. Does the CRD use a different skid? |

Mine looks exactly like that. Starts where the engine skid ends and the only slot that lines up the the t case skid and the nutzert in the cross member was the one all the way at the end of the tab. Even that one was close, I had to put the bolt in at an angle and rock away with the impact. Manufacturer's documentation states it fits the CRD. |

Manufacturer's documentation states it fits the CRD. Interesting. I have their "Front Skid Plate" (pictured here):
Which fits perfectly with their Engine-Trans Skid, and a Mopar Transfer Case skid which does not line up perfectly, but only has one nutzert in it, the rest having been replaced with carriage bolts, washers and nuts after I drilled through the top of the cross-members. I am guess the terms "Engine" and "Front" are not the same between Mopar and Skid Row... |

it should be called a Transmission skid, not an Engine/Transmission skid they had almost sold me one several times because the way it's described it sounds and is described as a replacement for the Engine skid and Transmission skid and it's not |

That last pic is the engine skid because it goes under the engine. I figure that anything that catches a dropped wrench or a socket while working under the hood (where the engine is) qualifies as an engine skid. My Mopar skid is severely battered but still in one piece so it'll have to go for the big event this weekend here in Utah. |

I believe the CRD's use slightly different mounting then gas KJ's even though aftermarket places just lump them in and do not know better.I also know '02-'04's use different mounting holes then '05-'07's and '02's came from the factory with thicker OEM front skids then was offered for others years as a option. |

What do you want for the front? Your front diff is getting lonely. Will you take Mountain Dew in trade? |

Pre lowered better trans thicker skids other things I can't remember off-hand Usually the first year of a new model is the one to avoid (working the bugs out), but it is starting to seem my '02 was the best choice to buy, not that I thought I made a bad choice in the first place. |
