So when i got my jeep inspected at Midas last month they had to fix my rear drivers breaks. Apparently it wasn't safe.

Regardless of that my front breaks are not wearily evenly, The front passenger break seems to be pitted with alot of lines. The front drivers just had about 1\3 of an inch on the top thats lower then the rest of the disk.

My questions are, Where can I find places to buy breaks?

How easy is it to install breaks in a 2007 liberty?

And in a separate topic I mentioned I was getting discoloration on my rims, a brownish substance. I can wipe some of it off, other times i have to get a scrubbing pad....it was suggested I swap to different pads and that should fix my problem. He suggested ceramic pads.

I guess my next question is whats the difference of ceramic pads vs whatever came stock on my liberty? And will the only benefit of me using those be the lack of dust?

Thanks again guys,

-Chris

Hey brakes are pretty easy to do if your rotors are not warped and you just need pads it is even easier. I just did mine two weeks ago here is a write up to help ya.

Depends on where your Break is. If it is in your arm go to the doctor...if it is in your frame....weld baby weld! Then again if you meant brakes they are pretty easy to do yourself if you are handy. I have swapped mine out and worked on my wife's a few times. If your rotor(s) are warped time to buy some new ones. If you jus tneed to swap pads makes sure that you ahve the rotors turned at a local shop or an Autozone. A lot of places do that and it is usually very cheap...$25 or so.
As for the goo, that is brake dust. Got to love it. I am not sure what pads came on yours but I had ceramic on mine. Maybe it was a fluke :) You will still have some dust...even though many companies say theirs are dustless  . I picked up my pads and rotors from Autozone/Checker.
For good rotors, there are a few posts saying that the slotted are good but to not get the drilled. I have some Duralast rotors on mine along with some Raybestos Ceramic Pads. WHen you do swap out your brakes make sure you pick up some lube, one for the clips and back of the pad along with some disc cleaner to clean off the factory oils off the rotors. Total time to swap them out is about...an hour or so depending. Usually takes me about 2 but I screw around a lot when working on my KJ :) Plus you there is always time for beer.
