| Post subject: | Cleaning leather steering wheel |
I've heard horror stories of people using cleaners for clean their leather steering wheel and it cracking. Has anybody had any luck cleaning their leather wheel? I try to routinely clean it with a damp cloth but recently it hasn't been working as well as previous. Any ideas? Thanks, |

There are special cleaner/conditioners for leather. I use Meguiar's Gold Class Leather treatment on my wife's Compass leather seats and steering wheel. It works great and cleans well too. You definitely have to apply some type of conditioner to keep it from cracking....especially if you live somewhere where the sun does as much damage as it does here in South Florida. I do it about every couple of months. Paul |

I clean mine with Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner +. Its made for cleaning just about everything and I can dilute it for different uses. Fender wells, carpet, leather, floor mats, etc. Its from the detailer line of Meguiars so most people can probably only buy it online. To condition I use Meguiars Leather Conditioner. http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/d10332.html http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/g10916.html |
