While making a right turn into NAPA a 16 year old rear ended me. She apparently didnt see my turn signal. Then when i asked if she saw me at all she said no to that also. Hopefully insurance will come through and i will get it repaired free of charge. Nice to see rear 1/4 dmg too :(

Bet she was texting!
This would be a good time to upgrade that rear-end protection to a Rock Lizard or some such. So you'll be ready for the next time you get rear-ended! That's been my strategy with my TJ (and haven't had to yet with the KJ). If it gets busted, it's an opportunity to up-armor!

and if someone dies from it would you be liable for having a non-dot approved bumper? or does it go beyond that. always wondered

Thats what I did lady backed into my jeep while i was parked, she settled under the table though. I got some quotes it wasnt alot fo damage only like 400$ is what I charged her than I turned around and bought the TJM front bumper on sale for 450 plus 150 shipping 600$

So when I saw your pics first thing I thought was RL rear bumper, get three quotes from the most expensive auto body shops and turn thoughs in and get a check. Than get the RL bumper and do all the work yourself. Save you money probably have sxome left over cash in pocket too..

Unless theirs any paint damage you reall want fixed than you can have it repainted but do all the fender work and bumper work yourself

Look at a semi or flatbed bumper. If that is DOT approved, then that's pretty scary. There's no give at all. If you rear-end one of them your screwed, while they just wipe the dust off.

Wait a couple years. Nah, I'm kidding. I'm just so sick of these teenage girls and boys tailgating while texting. I see it everyday. Its amazes me that some of these people have licenses. I think we need tougher laws.

Sorry if I offended the ThunderbirdJunkie. The Rudy made a bad joke.
