2.5 ton jack?

Looking at a floor jack that is on sale, my only concern is its max height is about 13.5", will that be enough to get under on a creeper?

13.5" is not enough. You need 19.5"+

What is the height of the bottle jack that comes stock with the kj?

To get the right hight you will need to use good strong wood block to go between the Jack and Jeep.

You can custom make them at Home depot or any place that sells wood parts.

Also just good staty stands to put under the jeep once it is Jack up.

Also once lifted the right hight, if you take off your wheel place them under the jeep as well. incase a Safety jack tips that will save your life.

If you really want to ask why you need a back up system, then you should not be working under anything..

Never ever trust a jack stand. I once had a puny 2 1/2 ton jack stand fall over and drop my Libby on the ground. I didn't get a chance to get the jackstand under it. Personally I now use a hefty 3 ton Michellin floor jack.
Where are you shopping? I see that Princess Auto has a 2 1/2 ton aluminum/steel floor jack that has a max height of 19" for $159.99 Cdn.

Never ever trust a jack stand. I once had a puny 2 1/2 ton jack stand fall over and drop my Libby on the ground. I didn't get a chance to get the jackstand under it. .

Okay, did it fail under the load of a jack or a jack stand because you say it fell over on the jack stand and then you say you didn't have a chance to get the jack stand under it?

I apologize, I seem to have mis-spoke.

What I meant to say was that shortly after I jacked up my Libby with the puny 2 1/2 ton floor jack it fell over. To be honest it was partly due to the way I placed it under my diff and the narrow stance of the floor jack. I always work safe and use the floor jack to lift the vehicle not to support it while working underneath it. A solid well placed jack stand is always necessary. Also it goes without saying that you shouldn't work alone. You need somebody close by to at least dial 911.
