Ive got this in 4x4 also, but havent gotten any answers. Im waiting on answers to go on and really want to get this done today. Im putting a tranny skid on right now and was wondering how you all bolt it up. 2 of the 4 holes line up. I am just going to drill a new hole in the tranny/tcase cross member, but do you all just clamp it between the engine skid and the cross member or drill through the engine skid and the cross member? Theres no hole in the engine skid to let me just bolt the tranny skid up, it hides one of the holes. Im not going to be doing any insane rock crawling, so would it just be fine to sandwich it in there? |

Also in 4x4 section. aight, even though ive not gotten any answers, ive got another question. The back right hole does not line up with anything. I have to drill all new holes. This guy didnt even use the right hole, i take it he thought it was to close to the edge of the cross member to be strong enough. Im not going to drill any holes until someone gets back to me. http://img95.imageshack.us/my.php?image=DSCF228.jpg put that in your web browser, i cant get it to work on here. Should i do the same thing he did? Edit: i just relized something, with the 45re tranny the cross memeber is totally different. Heres a pic of what i can do,
Do you think thats big enough to drill and hold that skid in? |

I preferred to drill holes in a $30 chunk of metal rather than structural components of my KJ, but it's obviously entirely up to you! Here's some pics of my installed skid; http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=2104&start=13 |

The All J skid required drilling into that cross member so drilling a hole for the OEM skid shouldn't be any different. Just be very careful lining up where you will drill and what is above the cross member. Keep the drill straight (which means getting enough lift on the KJ to drill straight up. I can't speak for those that have added an OEM Tranny skid. They should tell you what they did. |

i just picked up a tranny skid from the dealer today - 30 bucks! I plan on drilling the crosmember only because i want to use grade 8 bolts/nuts. I think the head of those nutzerts stick down too far and may possible get caught on a rock or something... -Nick |

-Nick So what stock number did you use to get it? I've seen so many numbers I've confused myself. And why don't these skids just bolt up if they're stock? |

I had to order mine it took a couple of days to get in plus the holiday... -Nick BTW - just call your dealer and say, "i want to order this part, then give them the number and they should just order it for you ,no hassles! |

i would, going into it i wanted at least something there for my light offroad/snow running and i was pleasently surprised for 30 bucks how stout it is. I am sure its not as heavy duty as aftermarket but its preatty thick... -nick |

I must say it does take Ground clearance away. Only 9in with my lift. I had 10.5 at the tranny/tcase cross memeber before, and for $28, its very strong, will do what i need it to do. |

Yea, i got it mounted. I ended up drilling holes in the cross memeber and putting bolts all the way through, works great! |
