Post subject:  Driveline Howl Diagnosis?

I am stumped with this one.

I always had a slight driveline howl on my 06 CRD. The issue has magnified itself over the last little while and is most noticeable on deceleration around 30- 40 mph. No vibration or pulling associated. BTW, I just changed my u joints and all looked good a month back. Did standard side to side tests for wheel bearings and did not find anything either. I know pinion bearings can cause this type of sound. I do change fluids regularly in both front back axles for transfer case. I have approx 80,000 easy highway miles with very little loading.

Looking for the expertise that only LOST provides....do not want to go to stealership.

Thanks

what style u-joint does the liberty use in the rear? If you dont mind, I am having difficulty getting that answer.

I have read that vibration could be the cv's, bearings, driveshafts.

Not all of them, I was replacing mine yesterday and thought I'd be putt'in in 369, 1310 syle but after I bashed the hell out of the old joint to get it out
I realized it was much bigger. I'm not sure but i think it's 354, 1330? Dimensions in metric is Cup - diameter 27mm, Axis diameter 92mm.

Stupid me should have checked and measured before banging it out...
