I need some opinions to help figure something out. A couple of weeks ago I changed the fluid in my transfer case. It was the first time I had done it myself so I kept an eye on it afterwards to make sure there weren't any leaks and there wasn't. I drove 600 miles on vacation to Virginia last week and the day after I got there I noticed there was a drop of red fluid hanging off the bottom of the transfer case. I crawled under to look and it wasn't coming from the fill or drain holes on the transfer case. There was some fluid on the bottom/back part of the transmission pan. I checked the transmission fluid when it was cold but the level was at the hot level on the dipstick, so it looks like it is overfilled. I kept an eye on it while I was there and no more leaks. I drove home 600 miles yesterday and noticed last night in the garage that there was fluid again at the bottom of the transfer case.I haven't had anything done to the transmission lately so the fluid level has been like that for a while. I was thinking that the long drive gave the fluid enough time to heat to the point to force it out throught the seal at the transmission pan. Or it could be leaking from somewhere else on the transfer case. Any thoughts?

almost impossible to diagnose from description, i would clean everything under there the best you can so that you can tell where the new drips are coming from, and remember, anything wet with fluid is to the rear of the leak in most all cases
