I just wanted to see what the prices are and choices are for 4:10s and good places to drop the cash. Ive read through a few threads but didn't see much on pricing Ive looked at this http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=42507&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=gears&start=0 and the D30a 12 pager on gears I was going to link to it also but Idk where it went. |

4.10 for the D30a, $250, they also have the rebuild for the D30a, its around $150 IIRC http://www.trailquest.com/axles/KJ_Model30.shtml And then the 8.25 gears and rebuild you can find pretty easily, the gears should cost you around $200 and the rebuild around $100. |

I have a brand new set of 4.10s for the 8.25 with rebuild kit laying in the garage if you maybe interested, was going to regear my rear axle and install my extra front diff with the 4.10s in it already, but going a different direction with gears/lockers everything Let me know, have to see what I have in the but will sell for whatever that is , plus they are good name brand not some of those cheap gear sets |

I was quoted $400-500 so you could come down here and get them done cheaper |

I know when I priced my gears out, it was 400 for the front and 300 for the rear, just for install. |

I have seen many folks having to pay around $1000 for gear swaps with install done by a shop. For all makes... |

I was quoted a while ago 1800$ for parts labor everything. I have not done mine yet, but when I do I will buy the parts myself and just pay the labor |

I was quoted from $800 to $1200 for the install, the place I went to has a good rep and I was happy with them overall. They also gave me a rental for the 2 days of install, and changed the rear main seal while they were in there for the price of the seal. I was got quotes from 4 local 4x4 shops and 2 other auto shops. |

The KJ will have a higher install cost due to the fact that the front diff needs to be removed completely from the vehicle to swap gears and labor time(by Mitchell's) is 6 hours to R&I the front diff alone. |

cheapest way to do it is to buy a front diff with 4.10's in it... remove old diff.. install that one yourself (if you have any mechanical ability) then just pay someone to do the rear gear swap. that's the way i was planning on doing it and it would be around $300 for rear gears/install kit and $400 for front diff with 4.10's. then prob. $250 to install the rear gears. so close to $1000 for the entire swap |

Well thats a great Idea Now just need to be able to find a front with 4.10's already in it which I am going to assume is by no means an easy thing to do? |
