Is it necessary to run the daystar USP when running a lift. I am goping to be running a OME HD and rancho lift. Are there any pros or cons to just using the factory USP? Thanks for the input.

Only necessary if you are running a spacer. i.e., daystar, frankenlift, etc.. Not necessary if you only running a full coil suspension.

Want just a little more lift than just the spring.

But a cheap clevis will do the same and also not preload the spring. I am still not a fan of spacers inside the spring for lift. Don't see the real advantage except lift and like I said you can do it better ways.
I have as much lift as a Franky and no spacers inside

So I should stay from the spacers. :( Already ordered them. With the spacer, does it affect the ride (worse or better) with the spring compressed? Will it wear out the spring out faster? If I do run the spacers will I need the daystar strut plate?

IF you choose to run LIFT springs AND the .75 rustys poly spacer INSIDE the spring assembly, you need the Daystar steel top plate. thats too much stuff to put inside the assembly with the stock top plate.

the frankenlift uses Rancho OR Old Man Emu shocks, Old Man Emu Heavy Duty coil springs Daystar steel top strut plate, and a 3/4" poly spacer inside the assembly

i have Rancho shocks and Old Man Emu heavy duty springs with a 3/8" aluminum clevis ring, and VERY happy with them with the stock plastic bumper

i added a JeepinbyAl 1/4" INTERNAL spring ring between the stock top plate and the rubber isolator because i have the ARB bumper, wanted a tad bit higher in the front because the bumper is so heavy. i have no other internal spacers, or spacers ABOVE the top plate
