Okay, my g/f and my mom both have now said that when I start my KJ and the 44 growns, there is a rattle, and I hear it now even.
Is something wrong, b/c I checked the u bolts and they are solid!

Thanks!

some exhaust pipes run real close to the tranny skid, so when you put it in gear it will rattle against the skid, esp in reverse more often it seems but just ideling will do it , have had to tweak 3 or 4 skids when I had them in the garage doing other stuff to them

On two of them just removed the skid and used a BIG hammer to reform the area that it was hitting on, few well placed WHACKS!   Jeep changed the skids some and also the way the exhaust ran over the model years and its just enough at times to hit every so lightly

you should be able to see if its rubbing or not, most times its the left ( drivers) side

lay down beside the jeep ( area of the drivers door) and have someone start it and put it in drive and back to reverse and see if you can hear anything

Any other suggestions?

bang against the muffler and see if you hear anything rattle?? also do the same to the Cats, sometimes they break apart inside

OR next lay down on the floor creeper, take rachet straps and tie yourself to the trans cross member and have your brother drive you around the neighbor hood ( with you on the creeper  ) I am sure after a couple of blocks you will find something
