Need suggestions on new Rotor + pads for my 06 CRD should I go with dealer, I replaced last year with "Aftermarket" rotors and they are crap, Rotor is all scored and carved in by the pads. Not even 10000km on it.

Any suggestions?
Thx,

Luc

I would recommend MOPAR equipment or NAPA parts to do your brakes with. Mopar might be more expensive but at least you will be getting quality parts. Same for the NAPA stuff... I would stick to those two stores.

Murray's, Advanced, etc. all get their equipment from sources with looser quality standards to keep costs down.

I can say don't get the advance auto ( dura pads ) They create more dust than any other pad I've owned.

Well, how much money do you have?

I would get the NAPA stuff (not sure if you can get them in Canada).

If you get the Mopar, realize that they have different lines of parts. Don't get their value line unless you like sqeaky crap that wears out fast.

If you have some cash to spend, Powerslot rotors have been good to me and several others here. Those and EBC greenstuff pads have worked much better than the stock setup.

The ceramics from Napa are a really good replacement. Other than that just stick with the good OEM replacement parts.

Thaks all for the replies,

Yes <NAPA> parts are available in canada. I did talk with the guy from napa and he says that he has 2 level of quality (econo and higher quality) in both rotors and pads. He recommended choose the econo rotors and the higher quality pads.

He claims that cheap pads wears the rotors out prematurely and that having better quality pads will last longer and wear more evenly.

price quoted:
$237 .00 tax included (15%)
econo Rotors for the (front) and high quality pads (front)

"Econo" disks usually means made in China from recycled metal of dubious origin and alloy. You might want to find out who actually makes whatever disks you buy.
