Treid to search for this but not sure if Im doin it right, Anyone ever broke the metal splined stub that the seat back recliner lever attaches to? One half broke awhile ago, the other just went. I am using a screw driver in "emergancy" situaution I have a feeling its not an easy fix. Thanks |

passenger side in my wifes 02 broke a while ago. I took it all apart to reset the seat in a favorable position and now it stays that way. I need to find a junk yard with a spor tin it so I can get a seat or two as spares! |

Not repairable, as TJ said you have to replace the entire recliner piece, and it's not cheap. My wife broke both of hers, but wants to keep stock seats so we are going to replace her seats with the ones from mine, and I'll install some after market seats. For the future though, if a handle is stuck and won't release don't try to force it. Grab the top of the seat (head rest), and rock it forward and back fairly violently while mildly pulling up on the recline handle and it will free up. |

Never really got stuck, One half broke a while ago, reached down the other day and pulled on and the other side half just snapped. I was kinda waiting for it. y passenger side sticks all the time and I use the headrest technique when reclining that one. Anybody know if that piece is metal? I (a friend) can weld something to it. Might not look great but I use the recliner enough to miss it. Thanks all |

LMFAO, I just broke my passanger one yesterday. I would have to say there is no way to weld a new one it is some pretty crappy metal. Just as a FYI, if you still have one of the studs there, use a pair of vise grips to adjust the way you want it |

What I ended up doing was to drill a small hole in middle of what was left after it broke. I then threaded a small torx head screw into the hole. It made its own threads, I did not tap it. Its not pretty but I can rcline seat with torx driver fairly easily when needed. If interested I can take and send a pic if you PM, I do not know how to post a pic on site. Im thinking of going to a bigger screw to give a little more torque when using. Good luck |
