I'm not sure if dog's would get sick if they took it, you can google to find out, but you could feed them some dramamine before any trip. That way they wouldn't get motion sickness from riding in the jeep. I get motion sickness really easily and dramamine works great for me. Makes me tired but I don't get sick. http://animalsunlimited.net/meds.htm |

Before giving any animal human medication, check with your local vet. They will know what is best and safe for your dog. |

There are a couple different reasons for animal car sickness and you need to figure out which one applies to each of your pets. Anxiety - Some dogs get car sick because they are nervous wrecks. The fact that they throw-up has nothing to do with actually having an upset stomach. Rather, they are so wracked with nervous anxiety that they tend to lose control of some bodily functions. Oddly enough, one of the best ways to get your dog over this is to feed them treats in the car and make it a more pleasant experience for them. It's usually pretty easy to figure out if this is what's bugging your dog...they will exhibit "fear" when approaching the vehicle. If they don't, they probably have... True Motion Sickness - If you dog is truly motion sick, there are a few remedies to try out before moving to drugs. A lot of motion sick dogs will actually get completely over it by being put into a crate while in a vehicle. The less they can see outside, the better they are. Keep the airflow high and your driving slow and steady (no fast take-offs or stops). If the crate tactic doesn't work, try out Dog Appeasing Pheromones (DAP) or Sea Sik (a Homeopathic oral spray). DAP works really well for one of my dogs (who is an abuse rescue). He just settles right in. I have not tried Sea Sik, but I have heard a couple good reports on it. Good luck! |

Bathroom breaks every 2-3 hrs and always run AC. She rides in the back with the wifes chi-weenie. If I leave windows down the noise gives them anxiety. Usually crank the AC til she stops panting and then maintain temp. Keep in mind she is a husky |

Stump- I just recently got a female Husky and I noticed everynight before she goes to sleep she will pant for 15 min or so. Is that something yours does? |

My red Dobie went 4 wheeling with me every weekend, ( well went to work with me everyday as well ) that is until I lost him in a divorce First time going he was maybe 3 months old, heading back a trail at night to get to our campsite, was really rough, hear him gagging some. Was driving my 69 Bronco, back seat out so he was back there, I reached back and said "whats wrong buddy" Just then he barfs all over my right hand, Ok I am on a trail, need to shift and drive but have a hand full of Thank goodness thats the only time he did that. If it got too off camber or really steep he would crawl up and lay on the front floor board, when it smoothed out he was back in the back again. |

A dog pants instead of sweating right? So when they are hot or stressed they pant. Mine will do it in warm humid weather. I use the AC alot for her.

I thought this was going to be pictures of insane LOST members wheeling adventures? My Boxer (really my daughters dog) doesn't go wheeling but does love the boating life!
And even as a puppy playing the bottle of her name-sake, never got sick.

We just took ours on his first vacation....12 hours one way. He did great!!! We didn't feed him till we got at our final destination, so no need for him to have to take a dump or heave, and make sure they're nice an tired so they sleep most of the way. And lavender helps calm them down too..... |

Search for Rescue Remedy, it is a great product that my inlaws use for when they take their cats on the road. Best of all it is all natural so it is safe for even human consumption. |
