my Master Flow Q-MAXX MF-1050 Air Compressor
Gets really hot after about only 5 minutes of run time... Is this normal? Oh and there is a filter, the stock one but it is not pictured. Thanks! |

I don't own that one, but all small compressors can quickly get pretty hot. Owners manual might have guidance about how long you can safely run it. I have the Slime COMP 06 compressor which is pretty similar. It's rated for 10 mins continuous use, then a 15-minute cool-down period. |

There's a big comaprison of 12v compressors that shows the operating temps... most were hanging out at 130-150F That's a sweet compressor though... I picked 2 of them up myself |

I have that same compressor. (actually I have several different compressors..lol) This one is the best one and it works really well but it will get hot. But that said, I havn't had any trouble with it. I never took it apart like you are suggesting, though. |

I have the same one and love it. For the money (about $60) and size I don't think you can beat it. I bought it based on this article... http://www.parksoffroad.com/prodreview/ ... ormain.htm I believe it has an auto shut off when it gets too hot. I have used it to fill 4 245/70/16 tires from 20 psi (beach) to 40 psi without stopping (I find it easier to overfill and then let air out to get the right pressure.) After 5 min of rest it even filled up a set of 33's on a friends truck from 25 psi to 35. I have found that the pressure gauge on this model is off by almost 10 psi - when I fill to 48 psi the tire will actually be at 40 psi. |
