All,

The "cap" on the top of my Sport rear bumper has discolored and I want to coat it with truck bed liner. It seems to be a separate piece from the rest of the bumper. Does anyone know how to remove it? Thanks in advance.

you'll have to take the bumper off and look how it's held on. a lot of them just have a bunch of fasteners (2 little tabs on the plastic top piece that stick through a slot in the bumper) if that's the case put a drop of oil on them and use needle nose pliers and kinda pull up on the top piece and pluck them out. however some have plastic tabs that are melted over.. you can get those off but not back on..

yea don't take that sucker off it's not worth the hastle, your better off just slightly prying up the ends and painting around it. BTW it's actually 2 pieces, at least it is on the 05 and once you get it off you have to remove all previously mentioned tabs and find some way to stick it back on.

If your bound and determined to remove it, just get a screwdriver and keep prying along each tab underneath until they snap out.
