I would like an inexpensive lift just for clearance purposes that won't affect my jeep as far as stressing other parts and making them wear out early.

I go on rutted forest roads a lot and in the snow, so some extra clearance would come in handy, but I don't go offroading as a hobby, so just looking for something simple.

Straight OME.

for any lift you really need to replace struts/shocks - the stock ones were bad on the showroom floor.

but that's half the cost of any lift - and if you want it to work better - not just be taller - OME is really the only way to go.

(gassers can get away with a OME spring Rancho struts/shocks)

Well Daystar spacer lift will give you clearance, however it will causse your springs to sag faster than they would if left stock.

Rustys coil lift is stock spring rate and will also sag after a year or two.

Old Man Emu is expensive but the best for a KJ

Shocks is your choice, most guys run rancho or OME, but there is rustys, billstien, and rough country also.

That said I'm running a daystar lift with rough country shocks in the rear. Stock shocks up front and so far so good. I only drive my Jeep about 7500 mile a year so I'm hoping to get two years out of this setup.

man I LOVED my franken lift. I wish I still had it on, however, I had a few issues with that setup.

I like my BDS setup. What problems did you have with the Franky Jeep Dawg?
