I installed a pair of Sylvania Silverstars (Which I Love) and when I leave the headlights on for the 30 seconds that they stay on after taking the key out of the ignition, it drains the battery. This started happening after a week of its install. Can somebody help me understand why this is happening? |

hmmm I"m not quite sure if that should be happening at all. A bunch of us on here have the Silverstars and I'm not aware of another incident like that. Do you have any other type of equipment that pulls a lot of power like a huge audio system or some TVs or perhaps a refrigerator? (sorry, the last one was a joke) |

It is completely stock, the silver stars are the only mod this KJ has ever seen. Though I must admit I do have a refrigerator in my kitchen Maybe I installed it wrong? I unplug the battery wire while doing the install, unplug the stock HID and plug the Sylvanias in and connected the battery wire back. |

Have your battery checked. It sounds like it is getting weak. |

Silverstars draw no more current than the OEM bulbs. They aren't brighter, just "whiter". If you see a change in behavior since they were installed, maybe there's a short or something, but I don't think you can blame the bulbs, unless one is severely defective. |

I'd guess your battery is going bad. It is probably just a coincidence that you added the Silverstars at the same time. |

Take it to Auto Zone or something like it. They test all that stuff for free. |

Not usually. I've never seen them come on for a dead battery....they usually only come on if you have a problem with your alternator...like failure while the engine it running, and the light will come on as things begin to slowly die one by one. |

You can have a bad cell in your battery with no warning, until things don't work and the vehicle won't start. |

I can vouch for that. My battery died last week. There were no warning signs. I stopped by the post office on the way to work in the morning. When I got back to the car, it wouldn't start. No starting problems in the past 45 months. No lights flickering/dimming or anything like that. Installed a new battery and no problems since. |
