When you click on these pictures new page will open with mid-size pictures. On this new page, you can click on the image and they will open full size images.
They could be a little dark, you can see more details by tilting your laptop's screen or by slightly turning up the contrast.
(I hope links work)

ok... now that i feel dumb... the diff is leaking from the yoke seal where the driveshaft connects. the rest of that oil thats around the back of the oil pan may be residual oil from the diff leak. that does however look like possible trans fluid leaking from the transmission pan gasket

The pinion seal on the front diff is definitely leaking, and since the damp section on your tranny pan is on the trailing side I'd say you might have some seepage there as well.

I picked up a diff seal from the dealer, I will take it to the shop for them to replace it. While replacing, they would probably have to add some oil, right? What type of oil is used?

Regarding the tranny pan, can I just spray some soap and brush it to clean it up to see how much oil returns after a few days?

Regular diff oil, either 75W-90 or 75W-140 if you have the tow package (the 75W-140 can be used without the tow package and would probably be better than the 75W-90 for general purpose). If you can get a synthetic that would be good too.

You could do that, get some Simple Green and spray it down then wipe it off, check to see what it looks like after a few days. It may just be that some of the bolts are a bit loose and letting some fluid seep by, just check everything out while you're under there. Have you seen any drops/spots on the driveway or pavement that would make you think you have a big leak from the trans pan?
