EVIC "Miles to empty" display has always automatically reset whenever the Jeep has been refueled. However, after just filling up, it did not reset and is showing "22 miles to empty". There does not seem to be a manual reset option like changing the miles between service intervals. This is not really much of an issue, in and of itself. I'm more interested if it could be a harbinger of something more serious to come.

Fuel tank cap was tight. Tried removing and replacing with no effect.

Anybody have any ideas as to what may be going on ?

Thanks,

DOC

Are you having problems with your gas gauge?
I believe that the EVIC reads the amount of remaining fuel from the fuel tank sender unit and calculates remaining miles till empty from the calculated MPG.

The gas gauge on my 04 Libby is inaccurate and sometimes when the needle is pegged on "E" I can still drive for miles & miles. The "miles till empty" on the EVIC will then simply calculate a value of "0". I was surprised it didn't go negative :)

You could try and hit the reset button twice.
-Push once = chime
-Push button again= chime,chime
All settings should reset.
