Well, my lift is all here, my snow tires & new rims are mounted and here, now all I have to do is wait for both. I'm putting the lift on in early October, then about the middle / end of november I'll get another alignment and put on the new meats. I guess my credit card would've appreciated me waiting until it was closer to the time to use this stuff, but I wanted to make sure everything was here in time. Now I have to see this stuff sitting idle in the garage for another month or two. Check out the 245/75-16 Blizzak DM-Z3 on soft 8's! I'm going to rock out the snow this year!

You'll get used to seeing a pile of parts sit there in your garage waiting for you to mount them. It is usually worth the wait. |

those cragars look big!!! 16 inch rim makes those tires look small why didnt you concider these
its a simulated bead lock, just sayin cause they make the rim look smaller ultimatly makes the tire look larger |

Are those 16's plus with the simulated bead lock? I didn't know simulated ones existed. Not sure if I'd bother with a simulation anyway, but just askin. I was looking for really cheap + black, and figured I couldn't beat $60 per rim at 16x7. I am sticking with 16x7 on all of my rims for now, because I already had two different 16x7 rim sets and I want to be able to put whatever tires I want on whatever rim. Also with the snows they are really, really soft, so I thought going 15's would be way too squishy for road handling. I'm guessing they'll already be pretty squishy. |

that looks awesome. may I ask how much they all set you back installed? Is $60 the best rate for these rims? I may need some too! are you putting on the center cap too and how much extra are they? thanks |

Is $60 the best rate for these rims? I may need some too! are you putting on the center cap too and how much extra are they? thanks The rims were $60 each + $10 shipping and handling from Summit. The tires were $80 at Tire Rack on clearance (new version coming out) and with shipping five of them would have cost me about $510 I think. I ended up having my local tire shop order them and mount them on my Cragars for $520 mounted and balanced. This way I get free rotations & balance for the life of the tire. Rotations are going to include remounting two tires as they are directional too. So I paid $350 for 5 rims to my door, and $520 for the 5 tires & mounting. Grand total $870. It's a lot for tires that will last hopefully 3 seasons. But I love the snow what can I say... Oh, and the center caps unfortunately are $14 each, and yeah, I'll probably get them and put them on. |

I'm very excited. They tested them on tire rack against studded snow tires and they had better results. Also all of the customer reviews on there say things like "stop on ice like other tires stop on pavement!" While I'm sure this is an exageration, they are supposed to have exceptional traction in deep snow, packed snow, and even ice. We better dang well get some serious snow this year. I'll be ticked if I wear them completly out on dry pavement all winter. I might take them on and off as weather forcasts change. |

From Summit, you can get black center caps. They were only around $6 a piece, and you don't have to deal with the chrome center ones. I personally like black better, so I figured it was pretty nice to save another $40 for something I like more. This is the kind, not sure if it's the right size. About to head out so had to make this quick. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GOR-HC216BC/ |

Yeah I'm flipping a coin on which I want. I actually really like the chrome ones. They reflect all the black wheel anyway, but the face is still chrome. They are really very expensive though. |

According to tire racks testing on a hockey rink, they found that all of like four brands of winter studless tires tested better than conventional studded tires. Three cheers for engineers! |

that's pretty awesome... and news to me. plus without studs you wont sound like a GI joe coming down the road on dry pavement |

In addition, I believe studded tires aren't allowed in some places. I didn't look that up but I was thinking it was true. Maybe that's chains. |

Minnesota dosent allow studs in car tires. A lot of people are going with the walnut shells, with good results. I think I am going to get the blizzacs for my dodge magnum this snow season. Pretty soft rubber with all that siping, they should be great on the ice and snow! |
