Any idea how much a 2' by 6' 3/16th steel might weigh?

Thank you, Do you think that will be to heavy? I want to use it as a skid plate going from my tow hooks to the crossmember at my tranny.

No but I think it might be a little hard to bend to fit nice and tight.

I'd cut it into two pieces. You'd hate to have to wrestle that monster into position every time you need to access the engine or tranny. Also, it won't be as strong as a flat plate. You will want to weld some sides or angle iron into the top of it for strength.
