I don't see a freebie either.

Plus the reports are not always 100% accurate.


Some situations may not be reported at all.

I have 3 cars.

2 of them had been hit and reported right.
Then fix by good shops with the Ins money.

They each got hit 3 more time in the past 10 years.
Reported each hit and had it fix the right way...

Non of my cars show any hit on CarFax..

it is nice, but very iffy at time if any thing gets posted...

Now for Smog, 1 car failed 3 time in years and it shows that....

Nothing beats a good Tech inspection...
or buy new, I hate used and i am willing to loose 5K by buying piece of mind new cars and jeeps

I think it was a one day offer :lol:
I ran the 00 XJ I bought in Feburary and it showed when I took it to the dealer to get a remote programmed. It showed the dealer name and address along with "service" :wink:

CarFax was a great idea at the time.
alot of dealers use it as a selling tool. My brother uses it all the time.

But with the problem of not all situations being reported CarFax is nothing but a lure now..IMHO.

In my 20 years in the auto industry, I've see the majority of CarFax reports that are not reliable.
