I've been wondering about turning my rear drum brakes into disc brakes?
How could I do it and is it fairly straight forward and simple-ish?

Not hard, most of the parts will be needed from a dealer(backing plates and such) and can reach about $500 or so in parts unless you get used parts. The hardest part is swapping out the parking brake cables, and yes new cables will be needed since the drums use different cables then the disc setup.

I thought about it but since we all have stick shifts..try the E brake on a hill with the rear disc setup on a KJ....ooops there she goes....

:?

Would only make sence if you add ABS to it...

Budke, you need skids and hooks first.

I have a sussy skid! And I'm trying to find hooks or make some of those shackles for the front.
I just need like 20 more bucks to make the shackles.

on the KJs with rear disc and also on the KKs, the main brake is disc style but the praking brake is still a drum style as alot still are.

Most disc style parking brake systems are complicated and are not just your standard calipers like what is on the front just different size

The only thing I like about rear drums is it makes it easier for brake stands to do burnouts. :D

I only do it seldom. Like once a month maybe. Not enough so I need one of those.
